Service To Humanity: 2.0
The 7th Annual National Shura 1438 & In-Service Training for Chaplains, Imams, and Other Service Providers to the Muslim Community organized by the Association of Muslim Chaplains, the Islamic Seminary Foundation, and The Muslim Endorsement Council of Connecticut will be held Saturday March 25, 2017 at Yale Divinity School in New Haven Connecticut.
Keynote speakers: Najah Bazzy RN (Zaman International) & Dr. Rami Nashashibi (Inner City Muslim Action Network – IMAN)
The Association of Muslim Chaplains Annual Members’ Retreat will follow with casual conversation and networking over dinner. On Sunday, March 26th we will reconvene at the same location from 9am – noon for a program drawing from the deep well of Islamic spirituality to revitalize chaplains’ sense of balance and well-being. Practices including muraqaba (self-awarness) and muhasaba (accountability) will feature prominently as methods of self-care, with consideration of how they can also be applied in our pastoral care practices.
Please note that spouses, for an extra ticket fee, are welcome to attend Saturday’s dinner, however Sunday is a closed session for AMC member chaplains only. To ensure your participation, you must have renewed your membership and purchased a ticket in advance.
